Also known as a triskelion, the symbol features three linked spirals. Most notably, it is engraved in the entrance to Newgrange, a stunning Irish tomb that is older than the pyramids. The symbol itself is said to be representative of many areas of culture at the time, so it is difficult to surmise the significance of this symbol concisely. However, it can definitely be said that the idea of movement created by spirals suggest motion of action, cycles, progress, and revolution. Also the special significance of the number 3, which is also seen in the Trinity knot.
